Were you looking for a serious, self gratifying biography on the struggles we went through and how we knew we'd be musicians after spending hours of our youth listening to old 45's? I'm sure we could come up with something, but here is the truth. We like to play a rowdy blend of jump, swing, and rock music, and judging by our fans, we seem to have hit a nerve with our sound. The good kind, not the funny bone kind.
A fan once described us as a modern feeling Hanna Barbera cartoon (you know, Tom & Jerry)… telling us
watching and listening to you guys, I half expected the walls to come crashing in and the police to show up for no other reason than it seems like the thing that should occur.
That was after NYE this past year, and we think that's a pretty neat description.
We love the fact that we are bringing swing music to another place in the music world, which can be awful hard to do on a number of levels. Most people think of swing music either as old-timey and out of date (Glenn Miller and bubbles anyone?), or as a trend that came quick and died quick in the 90's. If you've seen/heard us, you know we aren't really any of that.
So here's the skinny....
And here is the shocker that gets most people: we write just about all the music you see us perform. Yep. All originals. Unless you catch us at a pure
swing dance event
(where we do play a bunch of covers… we know dancers like to know whats coming sometimes), you'll hear songs written and arranged by the band. Take a listen to some samples from the album on
